Going by the packaging, I'm guessing these are the characters in their 'Protoform' state...still I'm going on record right now by saying "I like them".

The first thing I thought when I saw them was Guyver.

Dunno if I like them or not yet, like the other movie designs they're something I just can't seem to form an opinion on.

I like...

I doubt they'll be in the movie much (the mere fact that they're "preview toys" implies that the makers don't think they're giving much away).  Note STARSCREAM now has a helmet with more familiar ears too.  He still doesn't yell "STARSCREAM" at me but then I've never personally believed that this was a prerequisite for the movie versions.

Having said that, OPTIMUS is clearly OPTIMUS even at this "protoform" stage.

Begins...?  I thought they've been doing for years with a little something known as...repaints, tons and tons of repaints!

hmmm protoform mode... so if they also have a cybertronian mode, plus the earth mode, that's 3 toys each... more for some.

Well done hasbro

I have to add that when I say I "like" them, I meant the designs.  As toys they do look a bit nasty.  The paint job on these examples is a bit spartan (prototypes, I presume?) and not too well done with the pure black on STARSCREAM'S face being especially bad.  Also, while it's pure speculation on my part, the transformation seems to be a bit limited.

Still, they are "preview" toys... Some of the STAR WARS prequel "preview" figures lacked the articulation & detail of their later, 'official' releases so the same may apply here.

They look rather cool! The nods to other toys lines are endless, which is rather cheeky, but still, nice to see something refreshing like these!

Looking at these, the other preview prototype toys, movie images etc, weve pretty much seen all the main characters, bar Megatron. He must be something special to keep under wraps like they are ( ignoring the artists concept ).

They transform into 'entry mode'. So that's how they get to Earth...

hmmmm, not bad. Might actually get these. Thought it'll be interesting to see if they reflect what's in the movie. Don't want another Beast Machines line.

Just showed my 9 and 6 year old the figures.  liked Prime, but said that is not starcream.  That figure is an insult to starscream.  LOL  in a way scares me.  If my kids are a sign of things to come???? what will this movie do to our line?

Im hoping they come out before as previews. Maybe early next year or - eegad! Christmas time! *hopes, though its not gonna be*

I like them alot. Well, the robots anyway. The vehicles both go for a 'heavy at the front sweeping off to a streamlkines back which is actually just a big cyber......lump' look.

And the idea is stinky, but like I said I am liking those robots. And the packaging is failry cool, too. I was hoping for purple on the con packaging. And we may still get it since they may be protos.

E: Wait a tick! It says transformers collectors club on them. Could it be? Say it aint so!

Until Hasbro adds Battle Damaged, Battlizer, Karate Chop Action, Glow in the Dark and 'Super Mode' repaint toys to that list...they fail at cash-ins.

Ive mentioned those in a previous thread, and still believe that they will come.
