I have Just had this email from David Kaye today and Hes said this

"I’ve been cast as the new ‘Optimus Prime’....yes, Optimus Prime !!!!!! The new cartoon series being recorded at Cartoon Network in Los Angeles. You’re the first to know on the other side of the Atlantic"

I will enjoy this coz I love Optimus Prime. Hes my fave character of all the transformers.

I was surprised as hell about it last night when Heather phoned me and told me about the email she had from David! Pretty cool that he gave her the chance to break the story over here though.

Think it's going to be interesting to see how he plays Prime and whether he goes for the western "John Wayne" drawl that Peter Cullen and Neil Kaplan did, or try to develop his own interpretation of Prime.

I'll see if I can ask him to send us a brief audio clip next time I email him.

Plenty of interviews have shown Kaye to be a very good mimic, so I don't see any reason he won't make a good OPTIMUS.  It just seems... odd.

Is Gark Chalk too busy (saw him in STARGATE a few days ago), is he fed up of the job?  Was he even asked? 

Maybe DK can do a better Cullen impersonation, and with the movie having Cullen, the producers of the show wanted something similar (although why not get Cullen for the cartoon then?).... I'm getting ahead of myself here!
