Wow, that's great news!
Realistically, I don't think he'll be a gun. A pistol (any pistol) wouldn't realy have the mass to be a Transformer that warranted the "Masterpiece" title. And then we have to trot out the old chestnut that Hasbro wouldn't support a "realistic" firearm anyway (and a NERF Gun would also not be a viable MASTERPIECE alt. mode, I hope!)
Can't see them doing another jet yet, and no point in giving him a car alt. as they could do that in the ALTERNATOR line.
I reckon a tank - A big chunky ABRAHMS in a desert livery is the best they could manage, but the mass is there to make something to stand by MP OPTIMUS with honour.

Until I see some concept sketches or something from Takara-Tomy themselves, I'm filing this under R for Rumour.

Do'h.... That image turned up a while back and someone said it was erstaz (doesn't look anywhere near comlicated enough to be a MP figure)
If this turns out to be a false alarm then I'll be disappointed!

+ What is the Tan abrams tank artwork shown online? - Was a
fanmade experiment by friends of Hasbro outside of company. He wanted
to see how people reacted if people put that online.

Of course they may have been lying, or it may have been adopted after the feedback.

Right, seeing as MP-04's Japanese retail price was 18,000 JPY (£81), this 'Masterpiece' Megatron to going to have to be really impressive to warrent that price tag.

Digital Toys have him at $100 + shipping, so that's more original MP-1 and MP-3 price.

I wonder though, what are possible recolours / remoulds? Unlikely that anyone will accept MP Galvatron to be a recoloured or remoulded MP Megatron, so who's left? Warpath, Brawl? Or if it's a gun, Browning?

If this is true, great. Megs should have been MP-02 though.

Again, I'm going to wait for something a little more official about this release other then hearsay from a couple of online stores.

The potential here is massive, and based upon the image above, there's no reason why Megs couldn't be a huge eff off tank. I think that there's work to be done but it's nice to hear that things like this are in the pipeline.
